Okay. I have spent more hours than I will admit looking at and researching bumpers with tech support and salesmen.
I am looking for a sleek bumper to protect my Ex from deer, dogs, wild pigs, and minivans. I'd rather pay for a mad max bumper than be left stranded on the side of the road after hitting a deer or having my Ex totaled out.
I don't want another Ranch Hand (which does a superb job) as the styling is not what I want for the Ex.
This time around, I'm looking at Iron Bull, Iron Cross, Hammerhead, and Road Armor style bumpers. I've eliminated Iron Cross as they use light gauge steel. The rest all claim 3/16" steel with 1/4" steel in structural locations.
But when comparing very, very similar styled bumpers, the weight difference can be as much as 100% more.
For example, Hammerhead bumpers are almost half the weight of similar Road Armor or Iron Bull bumper. I could understand a 10-15% weight difference in similarly styled bumpers. Pricing is nearly the same. So what's the deal?

I’m a fan of the Buckstop Outback. Saving my allowance for the aluminum option. Open holes available for lights and can store a Warn 16.5.
