Hello all again. Does anyone on here live in the San Fernando Valley? I’m looking for a good mechanic to go to and most places I find on Yelp don’t want to touch my truck because “it’s old”. What’s even more frustrating is that some of these guys were probably in their 20s or teens when these trucks came out or were around so I thought they’d be nostalgic about it. Nope! Anyway, I try to do most of the work myself but I’m suspecting a bad head gasket/piston rings. It’s a 74 F250 with a 460 out of a 76. Automatic. Truck runs fine. Turns right on. But I’ve noticed that if I get on it and go faster than 50 I start leaving a trail of smoke behind. No smoke when idling or cruising the streets at 50 or below. I appreciate the help and the references.
Have you tried Larry's automotive? 7718 Gloria Ave, Van Nuys ca . I've been going to him for over 20 years. He is on Yelp, perhaps you missed him. I have a 68 F250 I'm planning to take there for I beam bushing replacement. Let me know what happens.
Cheers, Rick

Thank you! I hadn’t heard of that shop. I’ve gone to Docs Garage several times but the shop has gotten busier over the years (and more expensive) so I’ve been looking for alternatives.
They don't work on vintage exclusively but they've always takin care of all my vehicles. It is a busy shop but they usually get me in promptly. I'll call and let him know you're coming.
