2022 w 3500 miles needs new motor no help from Ford
I purchased a new 2022 Ford Tremor King Ranch. (Ordered it - Took 9 months to get it.) At approximately 3500 miles truck engine maintenance required light came on. Got it into local Ford dealership. Told us it needs a new motor. Said it would take a week to get the new one and a week to install it. (Ford would expedite the motor) That was a month ago. Called them today and they said the motor is on back order and they can't tell us when one will come in. Could be the end of this year before they can get one. Called Ford Customer Care. They told us we could claim it under the lemon law if we wanted to. Said a representative with more authority would contact us. That didn't happen. Called them back a few more times and they pretty much told us we would have to work it out for ourselves. The Ford dealership that has the truck said they would purchase it from us for purchase price if the motor comes within the next 2 months but if not we would have to take a $5000 hit. We have been avid Ford Customers since the early 90's. I've never been treated so poorly by Ford. Does anyone have advice. Have others experienced the same thing?
Ford ended up shipping a new motor for us and it is currently being put in. Should have it the end of this week. The dealership that is putting it in is not the one we bought it from so a big thanks to Kalispell Ford for coming through for us. Our dealership said they couldn’t fit it in for another month. Disappointed in them. I will update and let you guys know what kind of a job they did.
There was a recent thread on here about Ford short blocks being on BO. It is silly how the 6.7 is so popular and been around for over 10 years and yet they can't get replacement motors. Did they get it torn down to find the root cause? I am sure Ford would like to know what happened in case the issue is more widespread.
We didn’t take it in for routine maintenance. Our Ford app told us there was a problem and the truck might be under powered. The maintenance light came on as well. I’m trying to get help. Thought this might be the place for some good advice and positive feedback.

In the grand scheme of things,I would take the buy back (No lawyer needed) and then sit down with said dealer and see if they could find another truck. Especially if the Tremor package is a want rather than a need. Most dealers are in a network where they can get a vehicle from another dealer someplace within a reasonable distance. If not, take the money and go find one yourself.
Also look at other brands. When a person commits themselves to one brand they are kind of setting themselves up to get screwed. All three brands make great HD pickups any more.
So the owner of the dealership we bought the truck from called Ford. They have 100 motors on order and only 10 in stock. Would not give a timeline on when one might be shipped. Ford has to give me purchase price for it and they say less the mileage that’s on it. We would have to wait quite awhile if we ordered a new one as they don’t start taking orders until either June or July for the 2024’s. Our dealership doesn’t have anything comparable so they have no trading power. It’s frustrating. Dodge is not an option as in my opinion their transmission sucks. We tow a lot and the 6.7 is better in my opinion than a duramax in that instance.
I see shortages getting worse as they stop making ICE vehicles. Ford is afraid to have a huge supply of motors they can't sell because of stupid laws mandating electric. Thats the reason dealers don't have new trucks on lots. They don't want to be cought with trucks they can't sell.

A Power Stroke that doesn’t run better that a Cummins or Duramax that does run???????? OK. Your monkeys, your circus
Each states Lemon Law is different. Check yours. Since Ford told you to pursue the Lemon law. Take them up on it and get your money.
Once you have your money, go shopping. Might be able to find a new 23 Lariat on a dealer lot, and I'm sure you can find a used 22 somewhere with in reasonable distance

I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your new truck. I would take the buyback and press the issue of getting your entire purchase price back.
Then find a relatively new F250 or even new F250. The trucks are out there. 220 Results for F250 within a 200 mile radius of Dallas.
