Hey guys! New here and learning as I go lol. Excited to have landed a really nice 1974 F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special. It was originally bought in the town I live in and has been here since. It’s pretty complete minus the west coast mirrors (on the hunt) and one hub cap 😂. Doing some interior work now, gonna put the new gas tanks on this weekend! Itching to get this on the road!
"Welcome to the site" Good looking trk !! Too long ago to remember what came on the actual Ranger package....But back then if I remember right it was that full length side chrome under the door handle & bottom) that made it a Ranger....It may have had some other cosmetics like seat fabric options as well......I added that chrome to my 74 f100 & it was a pretty pricey add-on back then but it did make it look real sharp !! Memories (I could be wrong) but I think I paid around $6000.00. for that trk & it was 1 year old with 3900 miles on it ???

Thanks! Half the fun is searching for the the parts and pieces I need.
Cool truck! Is that the original color? I got the deluxe Marti report to find out exactly which model I have. Lmctruck.com has been a great resource for a lot things I've needed to bring my 79 F250 back to life. I myself just recently joined this forum and I gotta say that everyone has been incredibly helpful. Post pics as you go along.

yea original paint. Built in San Jose, I’m thinking about running a marti too.
I appreciate that! Yep it really is, pretty unique! Tried getting it started today, I think it has a bad starter…just clicking coming from the starter solenoid…got my buddy coming tomorrow who’s pretty well versed in the older vehicles.
Regarding the clicking solenoid, that could just be due to low voltage or a lot of resistance from old, corroded connections. Start with the easy thing first: Try cleaning your battery cable connections. It may help, but if it doesn't, it didn't cost any money, and you eliminated one possible source of the problem.

I was thinking maybe needs new battery connections. The solenoid was clicking now nothing when key is on. Lights work though! 😂😂
