Recently bought this ford in hopes to get it running but no luck. So far I have power to fuel pump relay, EEC relay. The pigtail going to inertia switch has nothing and neither does the selector switch. I get power to selector switch when I use a jumper wire on inertia switch but still nothing to pumps. Haven't checked computer yet and I haven't noticed any burnt wires but I'm lost.
First thing to do is check for engine codes.
when your turn the key to 'run', do you hear the fuel pump relay click once for 2 seconds and then click again? If so, then your ECU is fine.
Remove the connector from the inertia switch and check the internal resistance of the switch with a multi meter. It should be less than 5 ohms.
You can force the fuel pump relay on by jumping the EEC test connector fuel-pump terminal to ground as seen here. This will keep the fuel pump on anytime the ignition switch is in the 'run' position. This will help you diagnose where the power is stopping.
