I looked in the owners manual. This item doesn't seem to have anything connected to it. I haven't seen it before on another vehicle. It is mounted on the firewall near the brake master. The clutch is mechanical and down below this thing. What am I.
Hoses run under and behind it for the windshield foot pump. I turned the top cap and the clear tube turned 1/4 turn. It lifted out and had a thin dipstick with it. The jar thing has red fluid in it. This is a 4sp so it won't be tranny fluid.

JC Whittney used to sell something called a upper cyl lubricator, fill it with light weight oil and the engine sucked a measured amount into the base of the carb to help lube the cylinders.
Wow! JCW brings back memories!
Thanks, that might be exactly what it is. It fits like it is factory but who knows.
