Here’s what I have: The fan pulley on my 239 EBV appears to be between 1/16 and 1/8” too far back to line up well with the damper pulley groove. The water pump pulley lines up perfectly with the inner damper groove, so it looks like the damper is where it should be.
Honestly, I didn’t notice whether it was like this before I pulled the engine for rebuild, as that was the very first thing I did after I bought it.
Maybe the pulley was pushed too far onto the bearing? Would it be acceptable to simply fabricate a spacer plate to mount between the pulley mounting base and the water pump mounting face?
