1952 floors

I’ve been grinding and scraping the floor and the toe boards. Not surprisingly the front part of the floor pan and the bottom of the toe boards are rusted through. While scraping, I removed what looks like old seam sealer where the 2 meet. I cannot find where or if they were spot welded to each other. Also it looks as if the cab mounts are just sitting on the floor pan, again with seam sealer around the edges. Were these pieces welded?

New Ad?

Also what is this “Been Verified” ad at the top of the page of the site? I couldn’t recall my password and when I tried to reset it, the company started asking for my phone number and other personal info. If it’s the new norm for the forum, I don’t like it

Here are a couple pics of my '52 cab floors.....they are clearly spot welded with no seam sealer that I can see.

The seam sealer would be on the inside of the cab. The parts are definitely welded together, and seam sealer applied over the seams. After 70 years, rust can develop under the sealer, creep into the seams and everything can come apart.

Funny you say that......my cab has been on it's back so long that I haven't been inside for quite some time!
