I have been trying to figure out what I want to do for motor to drive my truck. The 292 is very tired and I decided to get the Che@y 383 my dad has. I want it running as quickly as possible. I know many will disagree about the motor choice it's just the easiest
Yes this is a stroked motor. I originally buit the motor and sold the truck to my dad and it just sits there, less than 5,000 miles on it. I had it balanced and ran well.
My 49 I built with a clone to the GM performance 383HT, 700R4 and 3.70 9 inch rear and I have been very pleased with the truck and motor. It fits well in the engine bay.
That is what I wanted to use originally. but got a good deal on a bored out 350 Chev, 400hp. I'm super happy with it and love the sound of a lumpy cam.
