I am going with crager s/s wheels on my 53 f100. How wide can I go with 275 60 15 on the rear without tubs or wider fenders? I have 8 inch now. I am thinking 15x10 on the rear. Would like to see pictures. I duplicated pictures, how do I delete them?
I have 255 x 70 x 15 tires on the rear. There is about an inch between the tire and the bed side. These are mounted on stock ford truck wheels from the 1980's. 275 tires are 10.8 wide. Were you thinking of 12" or more?
Yes I agree on the wheel choice but of course we all have our preferences . My challenge was to find an old school style of wheel with the oddball offsets I needed ( o front and 1992 corvette rear ) .

The tires are a little narrow for the wheels but were the exact height I wanted so I may change my mind and go wider . The wheels are 17x10.5 " and the tires are 275-60-17 . Fronts 17x8 " with 225-50-17 .
it depends a lot of how low you want to go. If the Truck shall be low 10" wheels will not fit with the original rear axle, you need to shorten the axle or get a shorter one.
ingo is correct . I you want the tires up into the fender ( my preference ) I would guess 8" wheel 265 tire would be max .
You also can widen the fenders or as I'm planning , widen the box if you want lots of tire . This is my truck with the stock corvette wheels with 275-60 -17 tires . ps my rear will be a bit lower .
