Looking for Ford Rotunda Teves ABS tool to bleed RABS
Hello all,
I'm in Pueblo and I'm looking to see if anyone in Colorado has the follow items:
Ford T90P-50-ALA & T93T-50-ALA Rotunda Teves Anti Lock Brake Adapter Set
I'd like to rent it from you or buy it. The procedure only takes about a minute total. I dont feel like spending $400+ on eBay for these.
I recently had Brakes Plus replaced my entire braking system on my 1993 F-250 4x4. Even they cant purge the RABS as they dont carry that speciality tool set. It's the last part of the puzzle I need to restore my brakes to how they should feel.
Yep, we're out here. I don't have that tool. Did you replace the master cylinder and that's why you need that tool? I flush the brakes in all my vehicles and use the Speedi-Bleed tool.

I had Brakes Plus completely go through and replace the entire system, just short of the metal lines along the frame. They bled the new master just fine, but the ABS unit has a tiny pocket of air that they say simply can't be purged without this electronic tool to activate the solenoid for the ABS. On '96 and newer with OBDII, they've got that covered easily with a modern scan tool. But these late 80s to early 90s Fords had this completely proprietary electronic gizmo that they said they may of had two decades ago, but now they don't see enough of these early 90s Ford trucks to justify the expense of this tool. They are a national brake chain, and had my truck for 3 days! They couldn't figure it out. They did the best they could, but the results are still unsatisfactory to me. It's still too spongy of a pedal for my liking and I can tell there's still air trapped.
On my '91 Ranger I replaced the master cylinder and used a kit specifically designed to bleed the master cylinder. It was my first time doing it and that worked. Maybe it was dumb luck. At least it worked good enough that my brakes were solid. It had only rear anti-lock brakes.
If I was in your shoes, I would take it to the dealer or find another shop. The chain brake places aren't on my short list of shops that I would use. I've got a trusted shop near me that if they can't do it, they someone who can.

This '93 F-250 of mine is also rear ABS only. The master isn't the issue, they bled that successfully. It's this stupid little valve. My rear brakes also lock up and skid when braking hard. So the RABS isn't doing its thing quite right. Oh well, I'll figure it out.
That tool only works on a Bronco 4WABS Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS),
You do not have an ABS motor or a place to plug this tool into.
It is not for OBS F-series trucks.

Ok... if this is the case, then why can't several national brake shops figure out how to bleed the brakes on early 90s F-Series trucks? (to include mine) There were only hundreds of thousands of these common trucks sold... what part of basic brake bleeding knowledge did all these shops forget or never know? I'm at a loss here. If the pros can't do it... and there are dozens of threads about bleeding issues... where did this knowledge go?
I can't send you a message, you've gotta adjust your settings.
I am new the forum and it won't allow me to pm. I checked my account and i am allowing messades. However, I found this in gretting message sent by administrator.
