About to tune / delete my 21. Just looking to see how these trucks have treated you guys after doing it? How have they held up? Also, how do these 10speeds hold up to some extra power, and are there any companies out there building them / beefing them up yet?
I can't help ya... but curious why you are deleting... with as bad as everything is getting with the EPA cracking down, I plan to simply keep my 22 stock. Also, from what I understood you had to send your ECM (?) to companies out of the country to get them flashed or whatever... seems like a lot of hassle. But are you wanting more power? Or just wanting to delete for deletes sake? Good luck with your choices!

More power, I like having exhaust, longevity. You can bench flash them here now, much easier! I’ve always deleted my duramax and Cummins trucks, well worth it. I’m not 100% set on it yet but I’m 99%😂
How many miles do you run a year. As much as I hate the extra weight hanging on these trucks and the possibility of
any one of the many unnecessary sensors failing, they have been pretty reliable.

10k miles would be a busy year. I haul my racecar trailer with it a few times a month, and we are looking at a 5th wheel camper. That’s about it really.
I just know if these things are anything close to my duramax or Cummins trucks, it’ll be just as if not more reliable, and it’ll last a lot longer without issue. I plan to keep this truck well past 100k miles. I’m not sure I want that EGR functioning for that long. I’m setting it up so I can put everything right back on it and he emissions compliant if it ever gets bad enough where I can’t get inspected or anything as well.
I'm doing a beta test on an emission compliant tune. Just a black box hidden under my dash and three "T" connected into the wiring under the hood. Just press the +/- on the cruise ( with cruise turned off) and it bumps up or down thru the tunes.
Fairly mild compared to the bench flash stuff. ( 20-65 HP) It has changed my regens from about 500 miles intervals to 375 miles. My tranny seems to be handling this just fine. I've towed a lot at Power Level 2 over the last 3 months.
My thoughts are more like Chads These systems have gotten pretty reliable. I see more trucks on Facebook and Youtube withbig mileage and stock. So they are holding up OK

Well again, It's not just the systems having issues that make me want to delete it. I like having exhaust, love the extra power and i just cant stand the thought of keeping this truck for the next 10 years and leaving that EGR intact and ruining the engine.
One whiff of exhaust can lead to a $45,268 EPA fine and the loss of your truck. One PO Karen can complain and have them knocking on your door. With JB green agenda, do you really want to take that risk? Not worth the risk to me. A loud exhaust on a late model truck is attention grabbing, of the wrong type of attention these days. I will just live with cleaning the intake every 50K miles and deal with DEF. Can't trade once it is deleted, dealers wont take them, and private sales can lead to getting caught as well. The EPA is looking at private ads and they are going after owners now.
Like Hunters laptop, no one want's to hear the truth, but, it's out there.

I love the laptop reference lol. I have never had an issues with my late model deleted cummins or duramax trucks as far as all that goes. But again, since this 10speed is apparently garbage i guess im going to leave it alone anyways.
I don't want to add power or take the dpf off or stop the regen or stop using def fluid. I'm ok with those things, for now.
What I do want is to turn off the egr, and either remove the egr system or block it off, without throwing a code.
Anybody make a kit for that?
you can turn the EGR off, but i am not sure if you can do that and leave everything else stock. I honestly would have stuck with ram if i knew these damn powerstrokes were having so many trans issues, LOL.
Did you end up deleting it?
I also think you need to delete the DPF if you delete the EGR as I was told it’s needed for regens. Not 100% certain. But I agree I hate the EGR and all that dirty air in the motor. I have always deleted my trucks in the past because of that.

I deleted my 2014 F250 back in 2018. I did it for longevity and eliminate the hassle that goes with DEF and regen. Don't expect a huge increase in mpg. I might get 2 mpg better but that's not why I deleted the emissions.
Just make sure you live in the area that's not communist. Also keep all your stock parts that are removed in case you want to sell the truck or trade it at a dealer.
I also have the EGR removed and have a good size muffler to minimize the drone. If I accelerate quickly I do give a small puff of black smoke but other than that you wouldn't know it was deleted.

I know of one LE Karen in a neighboring agency. Don't know him personally but have heard he's got a woody for deleted trucks used in commercial applications.. plus there's the state agencies as well.
As of Jan 1 if your truck was build before 2010 you can't drive it in California. They will stop you at weigh stations and will not let you register it.
