Hello all! Looking for some direction or if anyone has some answers.
2020 f250 with the 6.7l.
Normal acceleration. As I go through the gears I get almost like bass from a song on the radio felt in the floorboard and pedal that come and go as RPMs climb from 1200 to 1800.
Starts, humming felt at 1200rpm. Then cleans up, then back at 1500/1600, then cleans up then back at 1800. Still felt in park and netral while revving but not as bad as in gear. I can manual lock in 5th or 6th and feel it as your on the gas or even when your off at ranges I described above.
It's rather annoying and was looking for some help or any direction you would suggest.
It's not shaking the truck where you are like "what the $#@! " but quite annoying and noticable. Little more noticable pulling trailer.
Two things can think of that might cause this. First, if 4 wheel drive, have you lubed the front unjoints by the wheels? Second when was the last time you rotated your wheels? They can wear and cause a slight shaking and a noise.

WHeels have been rotated and still the same result. I haven't done the u joints. The truck only has 19k miles but something I will go do now as it's probably best practice to keep those lubed so thank you. I feel it even when is not moving and revving the engine. Just not as bad. Could this just be the nature of the beast with the diesel?
Think of the vibration as if your in too high of a gear in a manual trans vehicle and your engine is lugging while building the rpm speed up. That is literally what it feels like. And that may be the case with this due to these 10 speeds skipping gears But just not the same as others I have driven.
Could it be maybe exhaust related since it does it when the truck is stationary, possibly serpentine belt or pulley related? Motor mounts? Just seems odd for such a low mileage truck.
If it does it in all gears (including Park) then it isn’t related to any driveline components. It basically has to be engine related.
I would start by looking at simple stuff. Does the serpentine belt look OK? How is the air filter? Are there any loose wires or loose hoses under the hood? Any obviously loose nuts or bolts?
Does the vibration change in any way if you turn the AC off or on? Does it change when you steer left or right? How about when you apply the brakes?

I will look at the simple stuff. That's what I figured. Time to tighten everything under the hood and the exhaust. Thank you.
I will see about the AC. Good call out. Air filter is a little dirty. But nothing out of the ordinary I would say. Steering no, brakes no.
Given me a few things to go over. Thanks.
Any more ideas out there I'll take them. I'll report back after going through those items to share.
Also look at the catalytic converter heat shield if you happen to find yourself under the truck. Sometimes those get loose (broken spot welds) and can make odd noises.
So I have checked the exhaust and everything is tight.
One call-out, it is more of a humming sound when the truck is cold. When she gets up to temp it turns into more of a tight vibration in the floor board and gas pedal. Would everyone consider this exhaust based?

What you are describing is definitely not normal for the 6.7. The vibration accompanying the noise - something is obviously loose - unbalanced, etc. I assume it’s apparent enough and consistent enough that your dealer will have no problem also noticing it? With the low mileage be sure to have it dealer checked under warranty and be sure the work order is clear as to the specifics of the problem. Hope not - but it’s one of those issues that may be very difficult to pinpoint and resolve and/or you get the dreaded “oh that’s normal” dealer response. So…you’ll want a solid paper trail of your complaint and any attempted repairs over time.
Doesn’t really sound what I had but at 55k miles I had to have both front wheel bearings replaced. Noticeable humming when up to speed. Started low and grew louder as speed increased. Also pulled to one side. No vibration like you described though. Good luck and be sure to update when you figure it out.
