Oil pump pick up tube diameter?

Picked up an oil pan "for" an '81 E-150 302 (Spectra Premium p/n FP01B) for my '76 302 in my '84 truck (its a frankentruck as far as engine goes).
I found about 3 different configurations of oil pumps for this thing but only about 2 pick up tube configurations (that wont work for my frankenengine.)

So i guess long story short. thepick up tube that fits is Melling p/n 68-S3 that is .5" diameter tube were the oil pump is .625" diameter. my question is would that be ok to run or should I try and find a pick up tube the same diameter as the pump. Id rather not have to buy a different pump, those are a lot more.

Thank you.

Not sure how much the correct oil pump would cost but its minimal to replacing or rebuilding the engine due oil starvation, IMHO anyway. I'm thinking whatever pump you have is equipped to work in its selected function. Changing things like the pick up tube might cause issues.

UPDATE:
after digging more. i learned there is really only one oil pump style used on the 302's from around '68-'92ish give or take.
Additionaly there is a plethora (about 22 options from Melling) that are .625" in diameter that fit various front or rear oil pans. curiously enough none of those are listed for '80-'84 E-150 6qt (Spectra offers a 6qt stock dipstick in pan option).
I did find one of those that fit perfectly with the mounting holes BUT it was 1" from the bottom of the pan & according to Melling "the pick up screen must be between 3/8 & 1/2 from the bottom of the pan to prevent starving the engine of oil."

Although writing this i did have a lightbulb go off:
Scene the pan i got is a 6qt (height of 9") That screen i got to fit that was 1" from the bottom. I wonder if the extra capacity quart of oil would help it not be starved of oil?

Update / queston:
I wonder if I could use Melling oil pump M74 (from the 300 I6) and Melling oil pump pickup tube 74-S2 (also from the 300 I6) on my 302 for the new oil pan (80-84 E150 6qt 9" depth dipstick in pan) Im running out of options and do not want to/cant spend the gazillion dollars for Moroso pan/tube.
Was asking because I can not find anywhere the oil pump pick up tube for that pan. its not offered on anybodys website and of course its discontinued from Ford ( I think if i remember right).

The truck pan is a different depth than the car pan but is the van pan different than the truck?

I dont think the truck and van pans are different, they look to have the same measurements at least on Spectra and Dorman websites. The only discernible difference is either a 5qt or 6qt capacity & the van pan has the dipstick provision in it.
However all the Melling pick up tubes ive tried thus far for 80-96 year range (for trucks and vans) has not reached down in the pan enough (1" between bottom and screen) according to Melling (3/8-5/8 otherwise it could stave engine of oil).
I did find one at Jegs that i ordered up for a 9" deep rear sump pan so now im just waiting for it to get here.
