1954 239 OHV
Was going to replace valve stem seals on 1954 239 ohv engine with heads on truck. Do I just need to put compressed air in cylinder to hold valve up. Would you recommend this method or putting rope in the cylinder? Thanks

Ditto, Make sure to remove the rocker shaft. That way the valves will be closed so, you don't have to worry about getting the cylinder on TDC
