proportioning valve
I have a F150 88 302. I am replacing master cylinder and had to remove the proportioning valve from the old master cylinder and put it on the new one. Now it leaks. Is it a case of replacing the internal O rings or is there mnore to it than that. Thanks

Thanks for your reply. What you are describing is not what I am looking at. My Ford book says that there are two brake lines going into the master cylinder. The one closest to the firewall has what ford calls a proportional valve that is 7/8 diameter and screws into the master cylinder.

It must some sort of one way or pressure valve. More than likely, not rebuidable nor is there any thing to rebuild in it. I would think it would have to be crud in the fittings on the threads or where the flare seats. Or you may have cracked it when taking it off.
