fuel tank pressure and overflow
truck usually runs very smooth- very few miles on rebuilt engine- infrequent use
truck ran rough when i took it out last week- low on power!- managed to get it home but when i turned it off in driveway, i realized gas was being forced out of filler tube for rear fuel tank
am clueless as to where to start

Dozens of threads with the same issue. It's the dreaded cross-flow issue these trucks are known for. The tank that is getting filled has a bad check or shuttle valve in the fuel delivery module. The fix is usually to replace the entire FDM.

Cross flow doesn't normally cause running issues. You might want to run codes & maybe check pressure at the rail before going with the module.
Particularly if it runs rough on both tanks.
