Hello all, I've got a 94 f150 extended cab 2wd. My problem is I had my radius and pivot arm bushings replaced (black bushings) about 3 months ago and the clunk went away but I don't think they were greased. Now I did the string alignment trick 2 weeks ago truck steering was great. But now I hear a squeeking noise when I turn or stop. At first I thought it was my brakes but it's not. When sitting still I step on brake's no noise unless I turn wheels then I hear the noise. I think it's in the suspension when the body of truck moves I can hear it. Could it be my bushings also when I aligned steering I didn't adjust radius arms don't know if that's it unsure.... HELP...
Depends. It could be the bushings, but was anything modified on the truck before, such as a lifted suspension for example?
Just wondering out loud for now, since I know the 4wd versions of the trucks have a tendency to crack the welds and split plates near rivets when extra force is applied by lifts and larger tires.
May not even be the same issue on 2wd trucks like yours, but I thought I'd mention it just in case you don't find it to be bushing related.
But given the crappy quality of new parts these days, you should at least visually inspect the bushings if you haven't already.
Were they rubber stock replacements, or polyurethane?
