1989 f-250, no gas to cylinders

1989 Ford F-250 w/5.8 351 W

Not getting gas to cylinders

I have:

· 40 lb Fuel pressure on the fuel bar

· Replaced ½ fuel injectors

· Replaced Fuel Pressure regulator

· Replaced pumps

· Replaced Fuel filters

· Replaced solenoid

It will fire and run when fed starter fluid

It will not start with the key in the ignition, I am using a push start between the batter and starter solenoid.

Looking for some guidance on what to do next.

You might be able to get some noid lights from the local parts store loaner/rental program. You need to determine if the computer is “firing” the injectors.

I pulled out the ECU. It had water damage and mud in it.
I have replaced it.
I now have no pressure at the injector bar.

I am going to pull the ECU and reseat the connection. Definitely scratching my head

No pressure at the fuel rail? Does the in-tank pump run for a couple seconds and then shut off when the key is turned to “run?”

the ECU controls the pumps, igintion and injector firing. Since you have none of the above it seems, the ECU and associated power inputs (to ensure the ECU has juice to power up) is where you need to start. You can crank it all day long with a remote start switch, but this isnt carbureted with simple 12v input ignition. If the computer isnt firing the injectors, then the engine will never fire up. (learned this the hard way myself, had a blown MAXI fuse that powers the ECU....)

Reading the First post My guess was PCM. Now I'm assuming that the New PCM has a trigger wire in the wrong spot. Just for fun I would set the key to the run position and jump the Fuel relay. Then use the push button to crank it to life. If that doesn't work then you have more issues between the distributor and the EEC.
