yes of course. probly be asking tomorow how much to tighten lugnuts with your harborfreight torq wrench
Why don't you just take your snarky comments somewhere else, two comments in this thread and neither one was helpful to anyone. CThe OPs question was a good one, some people actually do like to keep an eye on all things on their vehicles instead of relying on a dealer for everything.
I believe there is a plug with a small dipstick on the side of the trans up towards the front. Ford makes it hard to check the fluid in these newer transmissions because they don't want anyone messing with them.
The only thing I found was a plug on the passenger side, no dipstick on the end of it, I guess you put a finger in there and if it's wet it's good... I don't see any info in the manual at all, it just says get a mechanic to check it if it's not working properly...
Naw i am not a mechanic. And cant wait 2 weeks for ford to check it. I dont think it should be that complicated.
The comments are commical but its a work truck and the ****ing transmission is slipping or stalled shifting sometimes. which is a simple indicator they may have not filled it up 100%
It also use to vibrate and now its not vibrating as bad as soon as the weird shift habits started. Also bumps at start up and has delayed going into gear a couple times. They may have also not got the trash out 100% as that was the reason for the TSB.

Of course. So they can charge $200 just to check it.
I have one good service advisor I am friends with and he can’t even get me through quickly. I may drive over there today just to loose money taking off work and to frustrate myself.

All I can offer you is that on the 6R100 in the F250 they did away with the transmission dipstick from the factory, There is a short screw in dipstick that the techs use to check fluid level through the fill port when servicing. The 10R140 has a fill port up front on the passenger side, so I would call the parts depot at the dealer and see if you can buy the dipstick they use when servicing.
That planetary gear recall bulletin was 40 pages long. A very complex procedure. Seems there would be many points during that procedure to mess something up causing your problems but checking the fluid level is an easy place to start.

You would think, except some educated engineer though us uneducated folk weren't smart enough to pull a dip stick and look at the the checkered area. Why not let some over burden dealership put it on the schedule of course after bringing it so they can pre-inspect to tell you that you'll need to make an appointment.
