Anybody noted any wheel/tire issues on a new Super Duty?

2022 Lariat F-350 DRW. Had a vibration from the get-go. I let it run a while because new tires, etc. Took it to Discount Tire to get my usual road hazard warranty (because I tow places and nearly everywhere has a Discount) and get them to run a balance check to see what the vibration might be. It was picking up around 70 and got really bad at 78 MPH. What they found was the one outer left rear Michelin and the aluminum rim had their heavy sides matched. Not 180d. They 180d that set and even with some weights was still way out in terms of road impact. The inner on that side also had excessive road impact, along with the outer on the right side. The fronts were spot on, no problems. I had Discount do the minimum to try and reduce the problem and the truck is back at the dealership. Have not heard back from the dealer just yet. The truck picked up nearly 0.5 MPG just with some reduction in vibration, although it was still very apparent. The left rear was bad enough that I thought the issue was on the right front. Not off to a good 1000 mile start IMHO.

I gonna say something just to bump your thread.

I have the Continentals 275/65/18ER. They are flawless. Way better than expectation from what I was reading on FTE. I was thinking of going back with Michelins when these tires are worn, but I like them so well, might stick with Continentals.

So far, no suspension issues of any kind. Not even crappy Ford shocks.

Sorry to hear. I love Michelins. My only issue is I hate Goodyear and that is what came on my truck. Wish I could have gotten coopers.

I still think the MS2 michelin is the best tire I have ever ran.

Have them tighten the valve stem on the aluminum rim back there. Probably a scrub issue with mismatched tire pressure. Will trash the tires pretty quickly. Consider moving them to the front.

My 2019 came with the 20" Michelins. They've been flawless for the first 25k miles.

After reading these threads regarding tire balance and vibration I was concerned going to a 450. There has been no vibration at all. Drives alot like my 350 srw. Had to replace drivers front tire and wheel at 2000 miles due to an accident and was surprised the truck still runs smooth. The replaced tire did not even need an outside weight. Hope my luck continues.

I have the AS2 Michelins and I'm not entirely happy with them. I'm getting a vibration off and on on the highway but its hard to tell if its the truck or the crap roads here in Michigan. Im really not impressed with them in the snow either. I have two wheels that have a bunch of weights on them from the factory, somethings off. I have 4k on them, I may just replace the tires and sell them at a discount.

64,000 miles on my Michelin LTX M/S2. Great dry and wet traction. Smooth and quiet. Still not to wear bars. I'm guessing I'll get 80,000 miles out of them. I'll definitely buy them again. Couldn't ask for more for my uses (99% street).

It is not unheard of to get a bad tire. Should not happen but it does. Sounds like you identified the bad one, replace it whether Ford pays, Michelin pays or you have to. Not unique to any tire brand or model. Michelins are typically very good tires.

No issues with the Continentals that were on the truck for 2000 miles until the Duratracs came in. No problems with those either, wearing great, just crossed 20k miles on the truck.

I think the ms2 look pretty good on my dually.

As far as the OP. Rotate the fronts to that side rear and swap the spare tire in place of the vibrating tire up front.

You are probably getting scrub in the rear. Watch your tire pressures. The aluminum rims can leak badly on these. They tightened my valve stem on one rear but it slowly leaks. I just put it 3lbs over the one next to it and let it get 3-4lbs low

Dealer spent a bit of time going over the tire/wheel combos. Said ours was the 3rd one they sold that had factory balance issues. I love me some TXDOT but it's sometimes hard to tell tire issues with the road surfaces on I-20, etc out here. The dealer made it a lot better. I think now most of the vibration at speed is being transmitted from the road surfaces. The concurred that the fronts had no issues and all the balance problems were in the back. Something I tended to do on the 2020 F-350 was run around 65 PSI in the rear unless it was time to pull, then went up to full cold. 80 PSI on the roads here is like riding a jackhammer.
