Couldn't get an answer on the e99 thread yet so....
97 f-350 7.3 auto 2wd. 221,000 mi. The motor runs amazing. I was amazed how responsive and well the engine runs This is not my truck. I'm fixing it for a buddy. The truck is slow. Pedal to the floor the truck goes 35. Almost like it's in low. Fault code p1705.TR sensor in not reading properly. Could This sensor make the truck act like it's In low grear? The tranny doesn't feel like its slipping. Feels like being in low. High rpm, low speed. Shifting gears at high rpm and the like. Pedal to the floor where maxing out at 35 to 40 mph. Any help is appreciated!
Any chance there are other codes besides the TRS? In the link below, the guy's transmission would not shift out of 1st - seems like the symptom your buddy's truck has. It had a P0750 code as well.

Nope. No other codes. The truck shifts through all the gears but just can't move over 40 but the motor is revving up and running great. I wrote on the e99 forum that I found out that both front wheels are locked up. That may have something to do with it.
What does the "torque convertor slip actual" pid showing? Compare it with engine RPM. Speaking of that what are the engine rpm's? You've ruled out any and all possibility of a brake dragging, including the parking brake? By verified I mean jack up each corner and make sure the wheel spins free. These trucks are notorious for slide pin issues.

Sorry. I talked about what I found in the e99 forum. I noticed the truck seemed to start allowing down real quick when letting of the gas. The customer was wondering if brakes were sticking. Touched the wheel and it was super hot. Both calipers were seized and the tires weren't turning by hand. He told me the truck sat at a shop I know of for a couple years. Sitting there. Parts missing off the interior. One of The previous owners of my truck used the same guy. Truck went in for a rebuild tranny and came back with an old ragged throwout bearing , shift fork and pilot bearing. And the ac didn't work anymore after coming back. I told my customer that I won't take my stuff there. I think he learned why the hard way. Turns out the 'mechanic' diagnosed a bad injector on a perfectly running truck......
Anyway, new calipers, pads, mounting brackets, slide pins, while nine. He bought srw rotors instead of dually rotors so we are gonna tackle that along with the ball joints next. I wanted new rotors but we wanted to make sure this fixed the truck first anyway. Thanks for the info!
It is always good to make progress where others have floundered and failed! I did that with an old IDI 7.3 with a Banks Turbo Kit. It had sat at a friends for a couple years. It was a Western Hauler with factory dual tanks and a large auxiliary tank on the top of the bed. The "diesel mechanic" that had looked at it said something was messed up with all of the plumbing and switching valves under the truck that was causing it to suck air and not prime up. The "mechanic" promised him it was not the mechanical lift pump. Well, it did not take very long to figure out that the lift pump was shot. I installed a new lift pump, and after lots of battery charging and jumper cables, and the old beast fired up!
If I'm correct in your intentions, I know that commercial!
I was just trying to keep e99 with e99 and 99 and up with 99 and up. I never thought I'd say 99 that many times in one sentence. I think I said 99 about 99 times now. If I keep saying it it'll be 99 more times I will have said 99...... Now there's 99 periods...... Should I say it?
Our forums are a lot more responsive! I much prefer our forums than there's! She is hideous! Take me back! Pretty please!!!!!!!!!!!???? Me sorry! It won't happen again!
