random loss of power
2008 F350 DRW 4x4
hey guys. im sure there are plenty that have experienced this issue but i randomly lose power, mostly when pulling a light load and the CEL comes on within 20 miles or so afterwards. then it goes back to normal power. then the CEL goes off. and its a cycle. earlier today it did it again. its happens sporadically with no real consistency. my initial thought was fuel filters, which are coming up due. i change them every 8k. i treat the fuel with stanadyne performance formula at 3 gal per 1 oz,, which is a little more than the recommended. im wondering if its possible that this stuff is freeing up old gunk and grime inside the tank and/or fuel line which obviously would clog up a filter. i bought this truck used so i have no idea what or if the previous owner used any fuel additives. ive already ordered the filters on amazon so im hoping thats all it is.
