I will be adding a disaster prevention kit to my 15 6.7. i've read a lot on the SPE, which seems by many to be the gold standard. My local Diesel Shop strongly recommends S&S. I've not done a tremendous amount of research on them, so what do you guys say? Is there one kit that's head and shoulders above the rest? Any other manufacturer i should look at?

Personally I'd go with the S&S 2nd gen... WAIT... I already have one just haven't installed it yet.
They have the replaceable Parker Racor SNAPP filters with a clear bowl for observation of the fuel for debris.

originally had the spe, but they took so long to ship. by the time they did, s&s had come out. returned my spe and got the s&s. have an install vid i shot, but need to edit it
I had the Gen 2 kit installed on my 19’ 6.7 back in October, and haven’t had any luck finding a replacement filter (6130120) to order online. Everywhere I’ve looked says they’re out of stock.

Has anyone on here had any luck finding one?
I have the Racor SNAPP filter (no bottom drain) part numbers for the 2 micron, 10 micron and 30 micron marine filters (they are white in color which doesn't matter to me.) I'll provide links later. They are also cheaper than the replacement filters from S&S.

do we know what the service interval is for the filter? Technically there shouldn’t be anything in the filter until the co4 craps out?
what has s&s said?
They recommend somewhere between 15,000 to 22,000 miles, depending on driving habits. I do a lot of towing, so I would probably need to replace more often than others that do more casual driving.
The guy that installed it thought I could probably go a lot more miles between changes.

So there are other filters that will fit with the S&S Gen 2 kit?

S&S, in my opinion, must have went to Parker Racor Filtration to have them design or suggest a filter. Since S&S was updating their basic design, they are the originators of the DPK kit, they wanted to obviously add filtration to it. The Racor SNAPP filter system was already in existence and was a good choice as it's very simple to replace and to monitor the fuel system with the clear plastic body of the filter.
From my research, they come in 2 colors; black cap and white cap. Both colors can come with a bottom drain and have 3 flavors so to speak... That I listed above. But the no drain versions only come in white.
I contacted S&S and asked them about offering a 10 micron replacement filter for cold weather use and they stated they do not. So I figured I'd find a source for them and get them myself.
The SNAPP systems come in regular automotive use (black painted steel filter holder with black top filters) and marine grade (Stainless steel filter holder and white top filter).
I believe Parker manufactures the quick disconnect fittings for the kit.

Ok, thanks for the suggestion and detail. Does part number r23107-30 (black top with clear drain bowl) and R2329810 (white top with clear drain bowl) sound familiar? Both are listed on Amazon, which is who I’ll probably order through because of free shipping.
Also, would 10M work fine? The S&S filter that came with the kit is 2M.
