You will not receive this type of help from most members here, thankfully. Many of us are not fans of deleting for the purposes of "rolling coal." Please don't add to this problem.

Yep but it's the truth unfortunately... since the EPA has started their 3 year initiative to enforce this until 2023...

Guys around here in the WNY area are getting stopped by the NYS DOT and the troopers. Big trucks like dumps and guys with commercial plates and business trailers like landscaping and such. I think it sucks but problem is IMO, was all the coal rollers and YouTubers posting up video of crowds getting smoked out by deleted trucks, etc. If it's Antifa, BLMers or last years rioters, I believe it's a proper application in those circumstances but just rolling coal to do so to give all diesel pickups and trucks a bad image, not cool. Deleted trucks can run right and clean without the black smoke. I get it at the track with big turbos, more than one turbo and crazy power set ups but for street driven trucks, over fueling is just wasteful, stupid and not good for the engine. Just my POV. YMMV...

my question is what happens in 2023? maybe by then the ep has figured out the DPF is a waste of time since the SCR with urea works so WELL at creating water and nitrogen. these puppies run so clean now, there is no way soot or particles are the issue any more unless ding bat roll over fueling to look like ...well dip sticks. black smoke is just unburnt fuel. serves zero purpose on the street agreed

thinking if we delete, we jsut flag antifa flags and the eps or troopers will look the other way ( sarcasm)

That's a great question which I don't have an answer to. Very true about the 20s plus. More DEF use and less EGR apparently... As to the particulate filters, i don't know either... It doesn't make sense to burn more of a non-renewable fuel to burn up soot on modern diesels when all the modern day gasoline vehicles emit soot but no one says a word. Look at the tail pipes of these cars... They are all black and sooty.

Once off warranty, I'd love to delete with a stock power tune but I don't know if I ever will due to my state and the potential of getting screwed over. I'm not having problems but time will tell.

The EPA is looking at particulate filters for gassers too. Coming to a theater near you.

Soot and smoke are the solid byproducts of incomplete combustion. Just about anything that burns emits particulate matter since complete combustion is more theoretical than practical.

I've heard that as well... That gassers will have filters on them as well at one point in time.

Talking about particulate filters, I just wonder why Ford decided to go with the injection into the engine instead of going directly into the filter itself. They would have eliminated the problem of fuel dilution with the oil. But hell, I'm not engineer or expert.

Yup... That's why a candle burns with black smoke.

in NYC DOT stops you if you have a puff of smoke for more than 3 seconds. so yes...sometimes during regen my stock 6.7 will puff smoke. I have been stopped twice. i'm told on the third stop my truck will be impounded.

That's asinine... They are messing with the deleted guys here and anything they can write with commercial equipment violations... But apparently your local DOT ****'s it up a notch or two because that's makes absolutely ZERO SENSE... Apparently those azzhats down there don't know or maybe don't care that the DPF gets up to 1200 degrees... They sound ignorant as ****.
