The PA Chapter's "Turkey's Revenge" November 2021 Chat and B/S Thread
I've really had my hands full with work lately. Several really large projects due for delivery in 2022, which means the engineering and detailing has to get done now, rather than later, to give enough time to get product made and ready to ship. It's certainly presenting its fair share of challenges because of some personnel related problems in specific (disgruntled help doesn't help, in short) and just the sheer amount of work. I know - sounds like I'm complaining a bit, but really I'm not. I'd rather be busy than slow like we normally are this time of year. It's just a lot that's fallen on my shoulders and it's hard to balance it all out right now between work, stuff that has to get done to the house yet before winter, and trying to enjoy working on the two expensive hobbies.
Enough about that though. The holidays are rapidly approaching, and that means food and get togethers and gifts and all that. While due to my circumstances I generally steer clear of it all, hope ya'll find what you're looking for this holiday season.
You know what to do, so do it.
Woke up to an angry neighbor pounding on my door, with police in tow. Apparently there was a rash of egging and soaping of windows last night involving a number of vehicles on my street (my 2010 got it, surprisingly not the OBS...), and he wanted the kids to catch a few charges. I told the cop that if he found them I'd just make them come wash my truck. Otherwise, just cleaned the windows with my pressure washer (at 7 in the morning and 37* spraying cold water is fun...) and got to work.
As usual, I only come to work to get a break from home. Got a few hours of bowhunting in with my oldest on Saturday morning. We had deer & turkey all around us, but no shot opportunities until 11:20 when a small buck crossed in front of my stand. I messed up the shot & hit him in the gut. Pulled out of there & came back Sunday morning to find him piled up 150 yards away next to the creek. Lost the tenderloins and the ab meat, but everything else was good. Butchered him after trick-or-treating last night & made it to bed at 3:30 in the morning. After finding the buck on Sunday, I coached my youngest in his last soccer game of the season. The game was an hour away from home! Took longer to make the round trip then to actually play the game, but I enjoy the one-on-one time anytime I can get it with the kids.
The N-Fab steps for the Super are getting delivered today. Hopefully, I can install them tonight since I don't have soccer practice anymore! One of the garage doors broke. I can't get someone in to fix it until Friday. Still need to pull the patio furniture in, do the final clean-up in the garden, & winterize the A/C & hose bibs. Whew!
Bill,
Sometimes kids will be kids, but it definitely sucks when they damage something that belongs to you. Thankfully they only egged the 2010. Work has been killing me too. A lot of high-profile local projects with unique safety concerns on them means that I get to get out of the office & feel useful. Unfortunately, that also means that I return to the office to find myself behind in my regular duties too. Speaking of which, duty calls!
Enjoy the day, Gang!

Jason, the Nfab steps look good. They seem to make a quality product.
SEMA started yesterday (or today, not sure). Winner of my own personal "most unique" so far, this Ford 9N tractor powered by a 7.3L Powerstroke. I saw this post a couple times on social long before the show, thought it was a troll...but, dammit...it's not. And it's not bad.
