My Grille is ok, as in not perfect and not rusted dented crap either. I would like perfect. It is probably good enough to get it there with restoration.
Amongst the many crazy ideas that float through my head about this truck, one is to make new grille sections for the worst ones. But how is perhaps the biggest hurdle.
That said I was looking for some info on how these things were made in the first place. I found nothing so far. I have an idea that they were stamped in large jigs and that came from seeing old videos of factory workers making car hoods.
Are the 46-7 Mercury truck grilles chromed steel or stainless steel? I believe the 48-50's were stainless, but the pics here of the early grilles look chrome.
