239 flathead bearing check

hi folks id like to check out the rod & mains on a 1BA 239 (on a stand) i have enough experience on chevy engines etc. so no problem wrenching so when i pull the caps are there any surprise's i should be aware of? i have a flathead rebuild book for the torques >>> thanks in advance<<<

You mean like ball bearings and springs jumping out?

no im looking for a little more intelligent answer like dont loosen the out board main its better to do an inboard main for inspection or when you remove a rod cap make sure its position is @ BDC to keep these bearings in line something intelligent like "you got this its no different than a SBC so thanks for the insult but ill pass on ball bearings shooting on the floor

Cro Magnon I would go over to the 48 /56 ford trucks and ask ALBUQ-F-1. He works on flat heads all the time and would give you an honest answer. Good Luck.
