Well I just got it a month ago and it hasnt yet. I never went 4Xing before so I dont know. It will have a Plow on it this winter so it will be working for its keep. I Do plan to go to the Beach next year with it. Our friends go on the beach all the time so I guess that would be offroading... I want to take the top off and get a Roll bar make to hold the rear seatbelts and maybe a soft top, but not to much $$$ ( like that will happen...) Il trying to trace the leak I have. The drip rail has a small crack but not much at all and I have water in the cargo area to so I think its the top. The rear window gasket looks good so I dont think its that.

I only mention it because the rear dropped backup lights reduce your angle of departure.

Where does the interior get wet? Front, center, rear?

I was thinking they are Low but the hitch isnt on yet so they will look less out of place with that. And I guess im defintaly not an off roader.. didnt think abotu departure angle

Ok the leak is getting the carpet wet in the cargo area and the ashtrays are holding water... where do I go from here????

Hey merkstang I've got the same problem on mine. I've finally found it just havent fixed it yet. You mentioned the seals looking good so do mine, but they are the culprit. On mine, the water runs down the seal on on the front side nearest the doors and some how snakes around between the seal and the lip on the shell and comes out on the inside. This may be what is happening on yours. I checked on new seals and the price is kinda steep so I'm debating on wether ofr not to just use some sillicone on them. Im not real fond of that idea though. I only checked at the dealer so far so maybe I'll find a better price somewhere else. BTW sweet looking bronco. Also you mentioned adding the reciever, it doesnt help your departure angle either. I couldnt tell you how many times I've bottomed mine out on and off road. IMO bronco's sit to low in the rear anyways.

Ya im not to worried about Departure angle, Im More worried about NOT hitting anything as I Back up!!
Im putting a Plow on it and will be doing alot of Reverse action so Seeing is a good thing!!

I think the Gaskets sound more like my problem too the crack idea may be it but it doesnt look like mines to bad at all. I want to replace the carpet and I nee to Find and FIX the leak first.

The cargo area is more than likely the gasket around the tailgate both of mine leak(ed) there. The top seal does occasionally dry rot and allow moisture in. Its a relatively easy fix and if I'm not mistaken, you can get it from the Graveyard and a few other locations OTHER than your friendly (expensive) neighborhood Ford dealer.

if your going to put a plow on that truck, you might have to lose that front air dam under the bumper. But first take off those automatic locking hubs they won't take the abuse.

Body man may be right. The air dam may interfere with the plows lift. It will pop off of the rivets that hold it on. (nearly tore mine completely off playing in the mud) Drill the rivets out and replace them with bolts and oversized washers, about 8 of them if I remember correctly. Thats how I fixed mine.

Ya well its kind a why I got it, I can write it off and use it for "Business" I have a small lawn service that I do on the side for the last 17 years and I am a Printer by day. I have a 66 and a 94 mustang Pace car and needed something to Drive in the winter... The mustang was FUN last winter. It was the first year for me with out a Truck! So really missed having a Truck and wanted to get one before the winter. Im under coating as much as I can.

Yeah, thats a fine ride to have road salt eat it up. Coat everything that you can on it. Huummmm has anybody ever used a spay on bed liner instead of undercoating. Thought just crossed my mind, and I wonder if it would work better. I know it would be more work to put it on though.
