I ordered a cardone distributor it has 14 teeth , the parts store said my old one has 15. What am I doing wrong? It won't drop in . And I can't find right part. I was told it's a 292 y block. The cardone number on new one is 30-2808 and has C5af12127 .Old one had no numbers .
How do I tell what engine it has? I have tag in glove box ., Engine . Idk how to tell what it is .

Reason: Missing info
Any pictures of the engine, pictures of the new and old distributor, part numbers.....
A '60 F700 might have also had a Lincoln Y-block, a 302 or 332. BUT iirc, the distributor should be the same. However, there should be no difference in the tooth count. Count again. If it is off, it's not going to work and needs to go back.

Check the block number on the driver side. It should be something like C2AE-6015-C. There is also a partno on the back of the manifold. The ford-y-block,com has the block numbers listed in the technical info link.
