Hey guys I have a questions for you about manual hubs on my truck. I have had my truck since Jan 4, 2000. A couple of month ago they started to click and I found out what the price is to replace them, but can someone tell me what causes this to happen and if there is any way to fix this without buying new ones? Thanks davida
David ,
You ll have to offer a few more details on the clicking . Are they making a noise in the free or locked position ? Its possible the selector **** isnt fully releasing . Do you know when the last time the hub internals / bearings were serviced ? Jack the front up and spin the wheels in both the free and locked position and see if the front axles turn while locked and stop turning when they are in the free position . How often do you use the 4wd ? What sort of climate do you live , road salt , water will require more attention than less severe conditions .
