The PA Chapter's "Back to School" September 2021 Chat and B/S Thread
Yes, I know the kids went back already lol. I needed a title and it's late and I have a painter's headache lol. (Side note, these brake calipers look killer).
September is here and that means the event year is winding down. Not many things left that I know about going on, there are some things happening still but not real big ones. That is if we don't float away tomorrow with all the rain from Ida that's left over. Rivers I pass on the way to work are up a bit.
I don't know if I have much else...you know what to do so do it.
Morning. Rivers are up and some flash flooding has apparently happened up home. I'm on a hillside so if I get that we're in trouble. Steady rain all day so far.
Boss is working from home rest of the week. Seems he has to get EKG, stress test, and a few other tests. Plus we have high drama over one guy's wife getting sick (not sure if it's "that" or not).
Unnecessary action, for sure. I have too much paying work going on to deal with the drama.
News just came down that they're moving us back to remote work. Draftsmen go home end of day today (2 of them anyhow, 3rd is on vacation) and I go home at a time to be determined yet.
Not really an expected move, probably more of a pre-emptive. The email was worded that this is a "mitigation effort due to an uptick of positive cases on the production floor." They're also looking at policy as it pertains to vaccination, testing, and etc. Supposed to be a short-term (1-2 month) move.

It is better to be pro active than reactive in cases like this. At work, they have now gone back to mandating everyone wearing a mask when you are away from your desk and are also back doing temperature checks due to the up tick of cases in the community. I have been out on medical for the last month so I don't know if those are the only changes to policy.
