Received N-Fab Nerf Step RS today and have not installed since mounting hardware was missing. However, I did hold one up on the mounting studs for a quick look. Doing this, I noticed that mounting brackets are not perfectly square with the bar and also not aligned in a single plane with each other. The middle passenger side bracket is the worst. Camera angle isn't great since I was holding the straight edge and phone at the same time. With the straight edge sitting across all three brackets, it completely misses the middle bracket, and the largest standoff is nearly a quarter inch.
Should I be concerned about mounting these? I'm assuming the bracket and nut will just float on the studs where the bracket doesn't sit flush against the cab seam. I know the nerf bar and brackets aren't going to have any substantial give. I don't think I'll have enough torque on the M8 hardware to deform the cab seam, will I? I suppose I could try to shim, but seems like a hassle.
