OK on to my next repair item.....I have tried to re-glue the material back on to the oh so high quality cardboard form that defines the shape of the headliner only to have it fall off and on my head while going down the road. I was about to just get new cloth and glue that back up, (Spray glue..the 3M stuff), but the cardboard is old and rotted and has come out in pieces. Anyone know where I can get another? I was going to just use 1/8in board, but I want the shaped headliner like from the factory. ( I know...picky picky picky)....Any ideas?
Oh, Another reason is I wear a cowboy hat almost all the time...I need the height of the shaped liner instead of a straight board that will lower my headroom.
Sounds like its time for a boneyard trip. Probably a dealer-only item otherwise and who knows what Ford is asking for the silly thing if its even still available. The board should be a fiberboard not unlike a thin panelboard. Of course if its gotten wet it may well deteriorate. The cloth is backed with a thin layer of foam rubber too.
There may be a place to get the headliner "board" and someone else may know about it.
