Too many dealerships... Does it even matter whom I order my truck from?
Sometime within the next two years, I'm going to be in the market for a new truck.
I'm in Northern Virginia and the closest dealership to me is Cowles Ford in Woodbridge, VA.
Battlefield Ford in Manassas is second.
After that, there's Malloy and Ourisman in Alexandria near my parents' house.
Ted Britt, Sheehy, Koons, Darcars...
I can throw a stone and hit three Ford dealerships. And I'm fully willing to drive a couple counties over to get a decent deal on my truck.
Does it even matter whom I go to to get it?
Do dealers have their own promotions and sales or is it a Ford regional thing?
I'm totally out of my element here. I'm used to getting beaters off of CraigsList and Facebook Marketplace.
I've only bought a new vehicle off the lot once and it was an in-stock model.
Odds are, I'm going to be custom ordering my truck and tailoring the options packages.
I'm looking at a 14th gen F-150 Platinum, Crew Cab, 6.5ft bed, PowerBoost hybrid.
Anyone in Northern Virginia or the DC and Maryland area have particularly GOOD or particularly BAD experiences with a specific Ford Dealership?
Koon's is prob the dealership with the greatest number of Fords sold so include them to get a quote from. All the others are also ran's but may be willing to give a better price just to compete. Toss a coin.
You would get a better price from a lot that has what you want on the lot..... so check that too. To save you may want to "get close" to what you want
I ordered my 2017 Ford Expedition King Ranch back then from Ted Britt in Chantilly. The sales rep was Whitney Sullivan, who is now the Sales Manager at Sheehy Ford, Springfield. As a matter of fact, I saw Whitney last week because I thought I wanted to test drive a 2021 Ford Explorer to see if I wanted to special order a 2021-22. I recommend Whitney. He sold me the 2017, and my two sons a 2015 Ford Focus and 2017 Ford Escape respectively. Great guy with a great rep.
