What are the chances that ford will continue their "Family Plan" after July30 and include the 06 models along with it.
Im not exactly sure what the other Manuf. are doing as far as what model years and for how long.
But wonder if one of them decides to continue their plan and include the new model years, if ford wont do the same. Since im sure dealer inventories are pretty much getting wiped out.
Then again im not sure how long they can afford to continue to offer the "family plan"
Im seriously thinking of just ordering one. As a crewcab, lariat with a SnowPlow prep pkg around my area is not looking good.
I think they are all going to start operating like Columbia House. When you buy a new vehicle, you fill out a small survey discussing your interests. Every few months from then on, the manufacturer will dump a new vehicle in your driveway while you sleep at night. It will be your responsibility to send it back if you don't want it. If you do not do so in 21 days it's yours...like it or not
Seriously, I think as inventories clear out, the Family Plan will go away. Who knows what the future brings though. It could return down the road.
Dunno about Ford, but if Chevy keeps it up we'll be selling vacation packages to wherever the plants are located, so folks can see what one looks like. We've been dealer-trading "ghosts" for the last week (units not here yet).
We were delivering our 4th Super Crew of the day yesterday when I left the office. We're completely blown out of SD Crews- gas or PSD's, but they were thin in the first place. Where we haven't moved the needle is on Expy's, Ex's, and cars. I'm really surprised that the 500 and Freestyle aren't selling better- there's a lot of value there for the money.
