Looking like I might be needing to replace my def injector. Got the def fault message . 50 miles to reduced to 50 mpr . Truck say about 12 hrs and I drove my 43 miles home from work and the message didn’t display again . I topped off the def tank . Yesterday. Drove it today to work and about 5 miles from the house I got the def fault message . Plugged my code reader in . Got a P2049 . From what I have read it’s my injector.
Is it something easy to do ? Truck is a 2017 .
sounds like another part for me to buy and put into my "please dont leave me stranded on the side of the road box"
keep us posted.
I did a search and a few folks posted that it was an easy fix.
Im kinda starting to think I’m just a ******* . I added 3 gallons of def . Didn’t drive the truck till this morning. Then my faults came on pretty quick . Today on the way home everything was cleared and the truck drove normal . Got home and ran a scanner and nothing showed up . On your display does it show a dpf and def or two def’s ?
have a Def guage which stays showing full until it’s down to almost empty.....never does a gradual burn down.
im using the “premium” def that cost more in the hopes the super secret additional additive does some good.
I do know that as it gets to winter...if you are in a cold climate...you don’t want to keep the def tank full....as it freezes into snow pop it needs room to expand.

my displays show def % and one shows level ok . Nothing dpf . I run the same def as you . I’m in South Texas so weather is rarely an issue .
For the DEF, my strategy is that as soon as it gets below 1/2 on the gauge, I add a 2.5 gallon jug of DEF. By waiting until it goes below 1/2, I know that an entire 2.5 gallon jug will fit without spilling over.
