I have seen a few posts about ATS springs sagging prematurely, how about OEM? Are the ATS just some outliers and most of them have held up? is it mostly just the front that gave sagged and the rear ATS springs have held up decently well?
about to order springs, OEM have gotten spendy, but if I don’t have to replace them again in 2-3 years that would be great and worth the the extra cost to me
i don’t tow, and procomps appear to be unavailable, so looking at what i can get in the next week+
I have ATS springs on 2 Excursions. I will not buy anything else. That’s how happy I am with them. No premature sagging on either one. Both have over 20k on them since install. They are both diesels btw. There is some settling that will occur fairly early on but that is to be expected with any new springs. Before the ATS springs I ran Oem x/B codes. Like ATS better. I have another diesel Ex that’s stock for now but I will be giving JR at ATS a call when I am ready for springs. I have read about how good the Procomp setup is but I can’t personally comment on that because I have never run them or know anyone that has. I think you will be more than satisfied if you decide on ATS.
I have the procomp springs and while I haven’t measured them, no issues in ~26K. That’s almost exclusively highway miles which some towing. Probably ~4K towing with the camper or boat. And almost always hauling crap in the back. I can measure if you want to know.
My procomps are right were they were since I installed them 2 yrs ago. They have one cross country trip on them for a total of about 14k miles. No towing and mild off road. Hub to fender 27 inches all the way around. If there was any "settling" it wasn't easily measurable.
good know, maybe a few of the reports I read were just that, very few.
I have low mileage OEM B's to put on and brand new OEM front U codes to put on. for my usage I think they will be fine and I plan to report back once they have been on for a while.
I've had my ATS springs for around 5 years, I think. I just went and measured and mine have settled about 1 inch all around, which is less than I had expected after the heavy towing and plowing I used to do. But my springs are modded ATS packs, not the typical ones most guys here order.
