94 300 to 75 302 swap

i’m swapping my blown 300 out of 94 f150 for a 75 302 out of a mustang ii
i have a couple questions regarding the swap
what engine perches do i need. are all 302 perches compatible or do i need a specific year
i know i will probably need a rear sump unless the front will fit (it fit in the 65 f100 it was in)
the truck will be carb
my biggest concerns is the sump and the engine perches. after i get that info i think i can manage the swap lol but any advice is welcome and appreciated

Yes you will need rear sump pan. You can use perches from an OBS truck with 302, just use the same year motor mounts.

Why on earth would you swap in a V8 that makes less horsepower and torque than the current 4.9L 6 cylinder currently in the truck? You picked probably the worst vintage V8 for your proposed swap.

Here's a screenshot I saved from a few years back when I was looking for engine supports to swap a 351 (same mounts as 302) into my '91.

BroncoGraveyard.com carries these now.

I'd have to agree, but normally I would endorse any excuse to replace that overhyped 6 banger with a V8.

Anyways, around 1980, Ford changed the oil dipstick location from the pan to the block. You will find that with the later pan on the earlier block, you may not have a location for the dipstick.

Also, if you plan to go carbed, I sure hope you have a manual transmission. The AT's used in 94 are electronically controlled which means you need all those sensors not only for EFI, but also for transmission control. Taking out the EFI engine, (or components) will result in an undriveable truck unless you opt for a fairly expensive stand alone transmission controller.

Lastly, how to you plan to accomodate the high pressure fuel system provided by the in tank pumps in your 94? You need to control the pumps safely, (a function provided by the ECM) and you need to bring the pressure down to carburetor friendly levels. That can be a pretty disastrous project and fuel pressure regulators are not the best choice. Swapping to earlier tanks without in tank pumps and using the mechanical pump on the engine would be the safest route.

Best solution would be to swap in a later EFI 5.0 or 5.8.

motor is not stock... it was in a 65 f100 and did just fine and the pos 300 can go to the garbage where it belongs so thanks for the un needed input also but i asked a question about engine perches)))

my next and last question would be what is the compatibility of rear sump pans. prefer one with the oil pan dipstick but can modify if needed but would like to avoid. thanks for answering my previous question without any bs
