General chit chat and what-knot thread.
Whatcha have planned, funny stories, and what ever.
Today I need to do a "regen run" Marge is a daily driver and my trip to work is only about 8 miles, so I am going to get her on the road, maybe you to Lake George or 11 Mile and see if I can blow some soot out.
I dropped a bottle of the Lucas Deep Clean in with my fill up, might not work, but I don't think it will hurt.
Looking forward to warmer weather, so I can light a cigar soon.
ChaChaChing! I hope your estimate is less than the one I got for shocks a few weeks ago. I did mine myself, took less than an hour on my 2004 F350 6.0 Super duty crew cab.
It is a better price, but I'm kind of glad they quoted me so high. I didn't even have to pull the tires on mine and I needed to save the cash as my 4wd stopped shifting. I just swapped out the transfer case shift motor this afternoon and its fixed.
4x Monroe Reflex- not the ones I wanted, but the ones I can afford right now
Rear break pads and rotors
Full break fluid replace
Full Transmission fluid flush
Oil change not the oil I wanted, Rotella T4, wanted T6 but that will be next oil change, will have to add something for the cold morning starts
$1570 out the door.
How is everyone doing with the snow?
Marge is awesome in a staright line on flat ground, but uphill or turning...well I need some weight in the rear for sure.
Anyone in the Colorado Springs Area have a recommendation for a Diesel Shop?
Thinking of checking out Dirt Road Diesel
McG
I did NOT have a good experience with DRD... I brought the truck in for inspection. They told me I needed a new engine! If you need a shop for work talk to Pete at Front Range. They are in the same building as Exhaust Readers on North Nevada here in the Springs.
Regarding Cold Starts look at Archoil 6500 for the fuel and 9100 for the oil. I ran T6 in my 7.3L, I was never impressed with it about 5 years ago I found Triax oil and have been running it ever since. The truck starts easier, idles smoother and is actually quieter too.

So in case you have not read my other thread about Large Marge....
She left me stranded just outside of Cortez with a bad EGR valve...or that is the story so far the shop has had her 2 weeks now and still has not installed the part and done further diagnosis
On the the recommendation above I ordered a gallon of the Triax oil and will get the rest over time.
