Help Needed - Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor
I got to replace 2 wheels on my Escape due to curb damage, 2006 Ford Escape 4WD V-6 XLT and trying to figure if it has Rubber Valve stem TPMS or the flat TPMS, RockAuto shows both and I would like to buy stuff before taking it to a tire shop. Some time ago using a reset tool it was used on the other side of the tire frrom the Rubber Valve stem. RockAuto wants $175 per wheel and Partsgeek wants $135. Any pointers would be helpful.
Go to a locally owned shop to buy your sensor. A 2006 has a strap sensor if it has a sensor at all, but any of the universal programmables will program to it. Straps are a PIA,

Do I need to buy anything to move the strap sensor to a new wheel? I just want to get ready?
You need a Dorman strap and sensor clips to do it right. It's not even worth it anymore as a single strap/ clips will run $20 and a replacement sensor can usually be had for $25

I decided after looking at the wheels today that a little touch up on the paint is all that I needed.
I went out today to make sure the right wheels were to get ordered and took a better look.
Thanks For the help Matt
