Give me your suggestion for brand of plug wires...

Yeah I know a silly a** post. I was reluctant but with the experience I had with previous wires of certain brands, I thought I would get everyone else's brand of choice and any negative feedback on a brand you used would be appreciated. If you need to know my ignition setup to give a recommendation then it is stock duraspark II. Everything is new (or remanufactured) including the crappy wires that I need to replace. For further knowledge I do not plan on going to an aftermarket ignition, and the wires are two months out of warranty so no refunding it. Let me know your favorite brand of plug wires maybe what mm you chose as well, all thoughts and input appreciated. Later

I have Ford Racing 9mm's on mine with Duraspark II....I was going to use Accel's, but they were nasty yellow to so I traded them for some winter tires!

So far the best plug wires I have found are........Napa's 8mm Belden brand wires.

I have tried MANY brands and the one brand I will NOT buy again is MSD. I love MSD's electronics, don't get me wrong, but their wires suck. I have bought no less than 5 sets that would baloon up from the engine heat, using a quality wire loom set. Once they baloon up they break down. One time I pulled the boot off a plug and it had melted to the plug. I got so mad the last time I bought the Belden's at about the same cost and they have now lasted 3 years and still going. By the way....they also happen to have a lifetime warranty.

Ford Motorsport 9mm blue wires, $40 at Summit. I have never seen aftermarket wires with the correct boot angle at the spark plug end.

I have FRPP's 9mm. They're the strongest boots I've ever seen on a wire, I've had them on and off many times and they don't break. The resistence is a tad higher, most of mine test around 2k ohms in each wire when compared to MSD, but if they're going to crap out on you and burn up then I guess electrical resistence is a non-issue. The only downside to them is that the 9mm size makes them just big enough to not fit in any commercially available wire seperators, and even my wire looms needed modification to make them fit.

Appreciate it fellows keep the recommendations coming. I have the frpp on there now actually they were the ones that I replaced when I found a burn mark and torn covers on one, then the taylor wires fell apart litterally on three wires (crap). I do like the frpp wires and might go back to them, on a plus they are spiral wound, and yes I agree they are a better built wire as far as the boots. Any more recommendations and comment are welcome I am gonna wait a few more days before I get a set, later

The Beldens have three performance stages and cost around $26,$65 and $85. I'm not sure what the core is on the wires I bought (can't find box) but the guy said the $26 set were OEM style cores. I bought the middle of the road set. They are identified by the color - red(street),yellow(strip),blue(race), all 8mm.

I did burn one wire once. It came out of the loom and laid across the manifold, but that will burn any wire. It was covered by the warranty though, thank goodness.

I do, but I don't see posting the same thing someone else has already posted. I'm running Ford Racing 9mm.

Not to sound like a complete smart a** but if people don't list their prefered brands and/or problems they have encountered then I will never know the general opinion. I have been around this crap long enough to name them all but not necassarily have used them all. Know what I mean?

I will reword the origninal post

Would like everyone to list your brand of spark plug wires you prefer whether they are listed or not so I can determine what the general consensus is. I still agree this is a silly post but as mentioned I would have thought all plug manufacturers would have decent quality control but I have experienced some bad wire purchases and would like to avoid another, I have in mind the brands I have had bad and good experiences with and will compare what I know to what everyone else posts. Who knows maybe someone will read this and avoid purchasing a wire set because of its name and more for quality. Besides if your reading this you don't have anything else to do right now anyways (j/k), so tell me what brand wires you like. Later
