simple question for you super duty guys - 6.2 high miles

I am usually in the bump side with my 300/240 straight six asking questions. But kind of thinking of trading a leased 2018 f150 2.7 for a 2016 f250 rwd lariat with 6.2L gas with 92K miles. If the vehicle has been well maintained, is that too many miles to consider. Towing duty is about once a month pulling a 28 foot, 6500 pound Grand Design 2800BH travel trailer, which both my f150 and the wife's 2016 Expy EL with 3.5 and max tow package handle OK. In a year, I usually put more miles on my Harley (about 10-12K) than my pickup. I am about 4.5K miles under my "allotted miles" for this point in my lease as an example. Will be introducing a 71 f100 flareside into my driving mix once it is out of the body shop.

I don't think that 92K is very many miles at all for a 6.2L. I would expect a well maintained truck to go well over 200K without major issues.

More than 400k on the first engine, the second one now approaching 300k. Same truck, a 2011 I believe.

I bought my '11 with 130k and considered that relatively low miles.

Maybe in the world of Windsor era blocks 92k was a lot, but no longer. You're smokin it - 92k on a 6.2 is like new

Well, at least at 92,000 miles it is almost broken in!

truck wasn't immaculate by any means, but OK. It was the Lariat, so only about half way up the loaded totem pole. Did have all of the towing add ons, from what I can tell. May test drive after work today.

I as well have seen quite a few 6.2L that have been put through the ringer in the oil fields last a very long time if maintained well. Now don't get me wrong you will always have some type of issues here and there but if they are handled when it happens i think you will be just fine. I was pretty impressed with the 6.2 myself and thinking of getting the wife one.

An option is to hold out for a 2017 6.2, as Ford improved the torque spec starting with that year:

Through MY2016: 405 @ 4500 rpm
MY2017 and up: 430 @ 3800 rpm

If well maintained, go for it. In my mind most vehicles today are good for 200k plus if well maintained. When I was a kid, seems like 100k on a vehicle was much more rare.

Truck was not as immaculate as lead to believe. Asking a lot for a 2016 F250, I am sure, but in any event they were too high in my opinion and not coming off at $27K. During the test drive encountered what sounded like the left front running over a loose manhole cover while making a left turn. There was no manhole cover at the intersection, but that sound was best I could use to describe. Wife was mehhh when I showed it to her.
