Hi all,
I just bought a '99 250SD with the v10. I know the owner's manual says to use VC-5, but the previous owner had the crate motor installed by the dealer at 120k and it's running VC-7. I'm assuming this is because the motor they installed was not a '99. Is there any way to tell what year the motor is? (the receipt he sowed me didn't say the year on it) Should I stick with VC-7 next flush or revert to the manual recommended VC-5?
Thanks
Using VC7 with a full flush is the correct way even back in 2004 we used the then new VC7 to flush and fill the old green systems. The VC7 has proven to be a very good coolant.
