The PA Chapter's "Is it Summer Yet?" June 2020 Chat and B/S Thread
So, here comes June. Certainly doesn't feel like summer though right now. Ford Nationals - Postponed (July 31-August 2). Lima (OH) 4-Wheel Jambo Series - Postponed (October 23-25). Almost all local car shows that I attend, canceled outright and not getting rescheduled until 2021. Racing is only just now starting to see some movement, but most are still only "private track rentals" at this time.
Coronavirus hasn't been kind to the motorsports world so far this year.
But hopefully coming up in June things change. Parts of the state go "green" this weekend (which does still hold things back as gatherings over 250 aren't allowed as I understand it), and with any luck full on "return to normal" comes sooner than later. I think a lot of what's gone on over the past few days has been the result of not only frustration with issues in society but also the pent up frustration of the entire 2-3 months of "lockdown" that's been going on.
In the meantime, I'm still grinding away on my truck projects and hopefully you all are getting something done too.
That's enough outta me, you know what to do so do it
Morning guys. Been running all over hell and creation trying to get something resolved here for myself. Then, gotta run the 2010 over to the dealership across town over lunchtime to get them to handle my door ajar problems. Sweet deal is that they're loaning me a 2020 to run around in while they fix mine. So, I'll get to see what that's all about.
Yeah it's supposed to start warming up again this week - past couple days haven't been terrible but not quite out of the 60's. Can at least get some stuff done outside fairly comfortably.
I feel that. Today's the last nice one as far as no rain - gonna rain Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday at this point.
Made the most of decent weather over the weekend to get OBS stuff and things going again. Picking things off the list one by one - hoping to get it back into daily service sooner than later.
So, the old truck guy needs to weigh in on having a 2020 around, at least some off the cuff observations from driving it 10 miles.
Dealership got me a 2020 XLT SuperCrew to use while they fix my 2010's wiring issue. From the interior appointments standpoint it's really a lot like anything I own at this point. Has a nice stereo system, backup camera. No power seats though even though it has power windows...which I find odd. The drivetrain is a 5.0L with the 10-speed trans, and I will give a nod to that as being pretty impressive. Decided to feed it some beans on the highway and it got up and took off like no one's business. Pretty quiet in the cab, not a lot of overall road or wind noise at all (I know some out there seemed to complain about that). Visibility around the outside is decent enough - think if it were something I'd buy I'd probably get the upgraded tow mirrors though.
All the pluses aside, still not enough to "wow" me to say I need one NOW. Though stuffing that driveline in my 98 is sounding like a really fun proposition that I don't have the cash to do lol.
