Well sorry guys and gals I've been gone a while and finally got my truck back into the garage to do all my stuff... leaning towards the dark side kinda. I have my Yoda PS box to install as well as trying to make my Tri-power work and repaint and a bunch of other stuff, but first problem looks like blue flame wrench to remove running board bolts….I hate that...LOL.
Have you tried drilling through the heads from the top? If you are well centered and use the same diameter drill as the bolt it shouldn't damage the running board. Use Vice Grips to keep the bolts from spinning.

Welcome back, BTW.
I might give that a try but the running board coming off is kind of junk, back in the 70's somebody cut holes for the stack exhaust and in has some nasty places where it crossed over large rocks. I have a board to replace it with but I might have to straighten the mounting brackets.
If you are going to buy those Mastercraft ones, be careful. I know they are cheap but they don't last and have been know to break apart. I always buy Walter brand. They last longer as well. I get the thinnest ones possible, not sure of the thickness right now and they work great. Use them at work and on the truck.
Thanks I will remember that. Right now my poor ol' truck is looking rough but at least she's in the garage and getting problems exposed. My dad , bless his heart didn't have the best of luck with fixing things and now I get to repair them. Did I mention he bought the truck in early 70's and then passed it down to me.

I second on the Walter brand zip cut discs. You could cut the bolt in half from the bottom until the nut is split in two..

My post was not a recommendation or endorsement of any brand. It was visual reference for the original poster's information. SORRY !
Mini thread hijack ... and ... grinding disc update part two:
I have had this idea for a long time, it is ultra top secret and to the best of my knowledge has never been done, I know because I have searched for years (probably for good reason, its stupid and will not work) .
Anyway I cut two strut towers out of a donor car and only used eight of the cheap discs, and didn't break any, except for my old body and only took three half days. Sucks to be old.
