Lmc tube grill question

Does anyone have pics of the two different grills installed in trucks? The difference is 4mm and 8mm but I can’t find a picture to see which one I like best. My 79 is getting the Bigfoot treatment so I’m looking for a grill like that, I would guess the 8mm would look the closest but I can’t find any pictures. Thanks

Why not just call or email them and ASK what size was originially used in BF1.

I’ve emailed them before with a two part email, one was asking about the grill to which their answer was it’s a custom in house grill and no further answer given.
and two I asked about sending my glovebox door and two more I have (for my kids) to them to have Mr chandler sign them seeing as I very much doubt I’ll ever make it there to meet him in person and they said they will not sign anything. I was disappointed in both answers, years ago I had Carrol Shelby sign the glovebox of my fathers mustang and there was a fee which is understandable (goes to his charity) and I had mentioned that in email that I wouldn’t expect him to sign/ship for free and it was just a no.

ive asked lmc as well the difference or if they had pics of the difference but all they did was send back the mm size which is of no visual help.

not the biggest deal I like the egg crate grill, but I also like the tube grill, someday I’ll see one in the wild and ask the person who owns it and maybe it’ll be one you can order.

I can't speak for the 78 79 grill, but the 73 77 grill is not really 'tubes' so much as it is 'thin strips of aluminum.

Thanks, yeah I’m sure that’s probably what most are it’s just what everyone calls them when I’ve looked, same way I call the bar in a bed a rollbar (something I’ve also looked for for years to no avail) but when I try and look up everyone seems to call it a bedbar.

truck looks nice btw thanks again

I think that psquare7575 has the 4MM style and that is the only option for that year. Part # 49-3996

I see that a 4mm and or 8mm is an option for yours. I blacked it out by accident.
49-3998 Billet Grille w/4mm Bars 78-79 (1) $249.95
49-3999 Billet Grille w/8mm Bars 78-79 (1) $255.65
What BF 1 had looks like a old school JC Whitney tube grill with a flater wider and the edges rolled in and then chromed set up.

Like this, you might find one of them on ebay.

Maybe this is it? https://www.npdlink.com/product/gril...-chrome/135346

FYI you have to use a hood latch "hook handle", if you use that style of grill insert.
