Doing a set of 6.0 head gaskets I wanted to get the Victor Reinz gasket kit as I had good luck with the last set I did. This time around was talked into the Felpro kit as it was less money. The kit was less money however do you think they could have labeled a bag or give you some indication of what O-rings are for what? I can't believe they would sell a gasket kit with all kinds of bags with various O-rings etc. and not give you a BOM list. I spent hours trying to match up the right 0-rings and gaskets. For ex. I had to open 3 separate bags just to find the oil filter housing and turbo supply O-rings. Makes no sense.
Anyone else ran into this? If I was to do it again I would spend the extra money on the VR or order separately from Ford.
They do provide one on the box most of the time, but they don't have the bags labeled to match up what goes where. This doesn't bother me, but I've also worked on these trucks enough to know what seal goes where.
Aside from that, they make an awesome kit and I haven't had any leaks or issues after using them.
That’s what I thought as well. The info on the box is useless just tells you it’s an o-ring and where it’s mfg. I like the gaskets themselves it just makes no sense as to how it was packaged. For ex. The gasket for the turbo oil supply line is in a bag but the o-ring is no where to be found for the other end. Some o rings fit tight others loose which makes me wonder if they are the correct ones. I dunno I would gladly pay for the better labeled VR kit.
Now that I’m done I have a kit with a bunch of leftover o rings wondering if I missed something.
They could have been packaged based on the plant they came from, not sorted to reduce costs. Usually, in large aftermarket kits, you have all the components for all the years, in this case 6.0L. Some may be needed for early production only, and some may be needed for late production only.

I thought that exact same thing when I got my Fel-Pro Top End Gasket Kit. I called them and they sent me the same list from the box. Didn't help much at all.
Well not up here in Ontario the Ford gaskets would have run close to $800 cdn. Felpro kit was half the price and the VR was somewhere in between. Reusing the aro studs so buying the ford kit with the tty bolts didn’t make much sense. Had I of known the felpro kit was like this I might have done it differently.
If you look around the internet, there are lots of different kits; one with HGs and bolts, one with HGs and stand pipes, one with all three, and then there's just HGs, among other more comprehensive kits.
Over the past 35 years of of maintaining stuff I have been extremely happy with Fel-Pro gaskets.. especially their high performance & specialty gaskets. I haven't really paid attention to the packing list. I have not had good luck with the Victor-reinz gaskets they just don't seem to seal as well. my .02, Russ

They make crappy injector seals for the 6.0...I found this out the hard way.
I needed seals and the Ford dealer was closed to so I used some Victor Reinz seals from O'reilly. Two years later I found out why my truck ran like crap....the seals shriveled up and were barely doing their job. The seals were dry and brittle...
