EGR cooler SS plugs
Gonna weld the egr cooler on my 06 6.0.I can find the ss plugs for the up pipe end but not the EGR end.Are they the same plugs?? If not can anybody point me in the direction of a company that might have it??

I bought core plugs from McMaster that are better described as welch plugs. The fit by impacting the convex side so the plug expands. By using one or two of those you can close off the up-pipe as a friction fit so if you have then need due to changes in emissions enforcement you can go back with minimal expense. These plugs are larger than the EGR cooler opening so they are captured in the small area. They are not going anywhere, they don't rattle, and they are thick stainless so they are not going away. That was the problem with people using freeze plugs, they are thin, they will rust. I also made a stainless plate as a secondary block that fits between the EGR cooler and intake. That I don't believe is really needed.
Pretty soon as the EPA runs though all the hoops there is going to be little to be bought as a direct replacement.
