Truck feels like its not running on all cylinders after startup..
First a little background.. Truck starts right up every time(plugged in or not).. After idling for about 5 minutes or about 2 blocks the engine feels like it is running out of fuel. It starts to miss and buck like its only running on 4 cylinders. After the engine is warmed up it seems to smooth out and is not really noticable.. I have clean new oil and filters. Ihave replaced ipr and icp.(both values seem to be in line with the norms as monitored by scan guage 2) No check engine light or stored codes. i have a regulated return with guage and rock solid fuel pressure at 65psi. Any suggestions would be appreciated
I have ohmed out both plugs at the uvch and also from the 42 pin plug(All injectors ohmed out at 3.4 ohms) Slight chafing on the harness but nothing rubbed through.. I taped and insulated it as a precaution..As far as manifold temps, I checked numerous times at idle and after a "heavy footed" test drive and both manifolds were about the same or within about 10 degrees..
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated..
YES all Motorcraft.. In recent days, I have changed out fuel pump, fuel filter, gone over engine harness and found a bare wire which was the common injector ground for passenger side. This wire was bare but not touching any other conductors or metal. Now I just pulled P0605.. Just reading up on that.. Not sure if that is a result of having batteries and sensors unplugged or pcm problems..
No butterfly, EBPV was deleted and a Banks Power Elbow installed.. i tried running the engine from a fuel can, and the problems are still there so that should eliminate the fuel system. I'm thinking IDM, just haven't got up the courage to buy one yet.$$$
